Antalya Archaeology Museum Guide
Current status: closed. What the museum is famous for, what the new museum project means, how to check reopening, and the best historical alternatives while it remains closed.
Do not plan your Antalya day around the museum yet.
As checked on 26 September 2026, the official Turkish Museums page lists Antalya Museum as closed. Antalya's official 2026 summer museum schedule also marks Antalya Museum as KAPALI / closed.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has announced a much larger replacement museum and said it is intended to meet visitors in 2026. However, the official sources checked by Going2Turkey do not publish a confirmed reopening date yet.
If you are travelling now, use this page to understand the collection and choose an alternative such as Perge, Aspendos or Side instead.
Official sources currently list the museum as closed.
The Turkish Museums listing shows the museum status as closed and displays 00:00 opening and closing times. Antalya Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate's 2026 summer schedule separately marks Antalya Museum as closed.
Because the museum is being replaced, old opening hours and old ticket information from blogs or map listings should not be used for trip planning.
