Private hotel hammam
Better when privacy, massage and spa facilities matter more than bathing in a centuries-old building.
Do not assume every hammam handles gender, clothing and privacy the same way.
Separate sections are common in historic hammams
Cağaloğlu's tour states that male and female sections are separate and attendants are the same gender as guests. Other venues can use different systems, so check before booking.
A pestemal wrap is normally provided
Traditional hammams usually provide a cotton wrap, towels and slippers. Some venues also provide disposable underwear or other privacy options.
The scrub can be firm
Kese exfoliation is often stronger than a gentle spa treatment. Speak up immediately if the pressure is uncomfortable.

A hammam works best as a cultural and relaxation experience, not something to squeeze between rushed attractions.
