Kidrak is the easy answer when you like the Oludeniz coastline but want a simpler beach day.
Kidrak Beach sits in Kıdrak Cove on the protected coast south of Oludeniz. Official Ministry tourism information places it about 3 km from Oludeniz and Belcekiz and describes a clear-water beach framed by dense pine trees.
It feels different from the Blue Lagoon. Kidrak is a straightforward open-coast beach inside a protected nature-park setting: swim, sit under the pines, use the day facilities and leave the resort-strip energy behind. You do not come here for a long list of attractions.

If your main goal is the famous lagoon shape and sheltered water, use the dedicated Oludeniz Blue Lagoon guide. If you mainly want a quieter swim with pine-backed scenery, Kidrak deserves its own half-day or full beach day.

The live DKMP nature-tourism page for Oludeniz-Kidrak Nature Park currently gives operating hours of 09:00–19:30. The same listing records an official capacity of 1,000 visitors and 100 vehicles.
Kıdrak Cove is the serviced part of this protected area. The official listing identifies a cafe, country restaurant, gazebos, changing cabins, showers, toilets and parking. That makes Kidrak practical for a proper beach day without turning it into a heavily built-up resort.
There is managed gate access, but Going2Turkey does not hard-code a 2026 entrance or parking price. Old fee tables and visitor reviews can become outdated quickly, especially after changes in park operation. Check the current charge at the gate.
The area is protected. Use the bins and facilities, avoid damaging vegetation, and follow any seasonal fire or picnic restrictions shown on site. The pine setting is part of what makes Kidrak attractive, and it is also exactly why fire rules matter in dry months.
Come for clear water, a pine-backed setting and a lower-key atmosphere than central Oludeniz.
Open-coast water
Kidrak is not a lagoon. Sea conditions can feel different from the sheltered Kumburnu side of Oludeniz, so judge the water you actually see that day and keep children close when the sea is lively.
Sand and small stones
Official national tourism material describes Kidrak as a sandy beach with crystal-clear water, while local beach descriptions often note sections of shingle or small stones. Water shoes can be useful if your feet are sensitive.
Pines behind the beach
The pine forest is one of Kidrak's strongest advantages. It gives the day-use area a greener, cooler feel, although beach-front shade still changes with the sun and how busy the picnic areas are.
Enough for a full day
Changing cabins, showers, toilets, food service and parking are officially listed. You can travel light, but still bring drinking water, sunscreen, towel and anything essential for children.
Quieter, not empty
Kidrak is often chosen as an alternative to busy Oludeniz, but it is not a secret private cove. Summer weekends and peak afternoons can still be busy, especially when road traffic and parking fill up.
Best from the edges
The most attractive frames combine the clear water, forest and rocky sides of the cove. Early and late light is softer than midday and makes the protected landscape more obvious.
Kidrak is one of the easier Fethiye beaches to reach without a car.
Use routes serving Kıdrak
The official DKMP listing says 3-41 and 3-42 public-transport routes serve Kıdrak Cove from the Fethiye side. Check the current municipal timetable and return service before relying on the last bus of the day.
About 16 km to the protected area
The official park page places Oludeniz-Kidrak Nature Park roughly 16 km from Fethiye centre. Travel time varies heavily with summer traffic around Ovacik and Oludeniz.
Continue south along the coast road
National tourism information places Kidrak about 3 km from Oludeniz and Belcekiz. It is an easy taxi or short drive if you already have a base around Oludeniz.
Parking is limited
The official listing records capacity for 100 vehicles. That does not mean parking always fills, but it is a good reason to arrive earlier on busy summer days rather than circling at midday.
Choose by the kind of beach day you want, not by which name is more famous.
Best for a simpler beach day
Choose Kidrak for a more natural pine-backed setting, fewer resort-strip distractions and an open-coast swim. It suits travellers who mainly want to relax by the water.
Best for the classic lagoon
Choose the Blue Lagoon for sheltered water and the famous Kumburnu landscape. It is the stronger first-time choice if seeing the postcard Oludeniz scenery is your priority.
Best for resort atmosphere
Choose Belcekiz if you want restaurants, boat departures, paragliders landing overhead and the energy of central Oludeniz right behind the beach.
Easy if you have a full day
Start at Kidrak in the morning, then move to Oludeniz later for a walk, dinner or sunset atmosphere. The two areas are close enough that you do not need to force a choice.
Kidrak works best with one nearby stop, not five.
Kidrak Beach
Arrive near opening time, choose your spot before the busiest period and give yourself a proper swim rather than treating the beach as a ten-minute photo stop.
Oludeniz + Belcekiz
Continue back toward Oludeniz for a walk, food and the open-sea beachfront. If you still want more swimming, compare the conditions with Kidrak before getting back in.
Babadag or relaxed dinner
If weather and cable-car operations suit, finish with Babadag views. Otherwise keep the day easy and stay around Oludeniz for dinner rather than adding another long transfer.
Kidrak itself is easiest independently.
Independent visit: this is the normal choice. Public transport, taxi or a rental car lets you arrive when the park opens and leave when you have had enough beach time.
Organised day: useful only if Kidrak is not your main goal and you want someone else to handle a larger Fethiye-area route. Most tours focus on the Blue Lagoon, Kayakoy, Butterfly Valley or boat stops rather than giving Kidrak a long beach stay.
