Pasabagı is located on the way to Zelve while coming from Avanos or Göreme. This fantastic location is also named as Monks Valley and Paşabağı name comes from the vineyard of “paşa” (the military term “general” in Turkish). While you are finishing your hiking route in Paşabağı, you can observe highly remarkable earth pillars in the middle of a vineyard and tuff cones standing right next to the road.

Pigeon Valley is named after the pigeon houses carved into the cliffs. Centuries ago pigeons were being used as message deliverers and their waste was being used as fertilizer. Nowadays, very few pigeons are fed in the valley. It is an amazing experience to view the pigeon house carved cliffs in the valley, the valley is really long and it will take a few hours to walk.

After Pigeon valley walks, you can continue to Uçhisar Castle from where you will admire the beautiful panorama of the houses of the town and Mount Erciyes far in the horizon. Uçhisar Castle has an outcropping volcanic rock which is visible for miles around and has a honeycomb appearance with hundreds of small holes for rooms carved into a soft rock.
